Tibby World Cup 2026

The students representing Uruguay will have been cheering the loudest, having claimed victory at the Tibshelf World Cup Tournament last night.

Community spirit was out in full force. As teams marched onto the Astro, they were flanked by supporters clad in their team colours.

A handful of students even put in their shift as managers, raring to go with game plans, strategies, and inspirational team huddles. Many were praising Mr Cannon, who turned up in a full three-piece suit to complete the managerial look.

Amid cheers and the starting whistle, the first three games were off.

It was clear Norway and Uruguay were off to a strong start. As time went on, other teams began to claw their way up the ranks too, with possession going back and forth.

Highlights included a stunning goal by Smith. The ball came in from a throw. One tap into the air from the pupil before a smooth sidekick from him sent it rocketing into the top left corner.

Meanwhile, in another game, Harris was quick to blast the ball in from a swift pass. It found its home past the keeper. Was he done there? Not in the slightest. Not long after, he sent another ball crashing into the net.

Dakin scored a phenomenal two goals in the play-offs. One a stunning volley. The other a crest that sailed into the net. Brilliant form.

After an incredible effort from the players and supporters, the final whistle blew. Full time at the tournament.
