A Warm Welcome To Our Year 7s

As Year 7s settle in for their first week, let’s look back at some of the highlights as they joined us at Tibshelf Community School.
Summer School
Over the summer holidays, a team of school staff remained on site for a few days to host Summer School.
Summer School welcomed some of the new Year 7 pupils who were joining Tibshelf in September. As well as getting to know the staff and school, they took part in all sorts of activities:
- Ancient writing workshops,
- Gravity experiments
- Axe throwing
- Archery
- Fire-building
We also treated everyone to an ice cream at the end of the week as well.
Flash forward to September
After an assembly on the school and what to expect, pupils spent the first part of their day with their tutor group, getting their new timetable as well as taking some time to make new friends and spend some time with their tutor.
Since then, it's been a flurry of lessons. Year 7s also experienced their first PD Day, venturing out to the Mill Adventure Base for a day of team building and outdoor learning.
