Deputy Director of Creativity
MPR/UPR + TLR2.1
To commence – 1st September 2026
Are you an inspiring Drama Teacher ready to shape the next generation of creative talent? We are seeking a passionate and ambitious practitioner to join our vibrant Creativity Faculty, a dynamic team encompassing Sport, Dance, Health & Social Care, Child Development, Music, and Drama. The TLR responsibility will be for either curriculum or assessment within the faculty, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth and leadership. This will be confirmed on appointment.
With Music newly introduced and significantly developed over the past year, our creative provision is expanding rapidly, and we warmly encourage prospective candidates to visit the school to experience our vision in action. Experience teaching the WJEC Drama course and leading whole-school performances would be highly desirable, but above all, we are looking for someone who can bring creativity, energy, and innovation to our thriving department.
The role of Deputy Director of Creativity will play a particularly vital role working alongside our other Deputy and the Director of Creativity in shaping and developing the Performing Arts curriculums across the school to engage and motivate all pupils and improve overall outcomes in this area. Historically, the school has established a good track record in Drama and has excellent facilities to showcase performances from across our Creativity faculty, and therefore, this role would present an exciting opportunity for someone to come in and develop our existing offer.
The post provides a great opportunity for a talented teacher of Drama to advance their own career and professional development, and to join a forward-looking school at an exciting time in its development.
Anyone interested in applying for the post is strongly encouraged to come to Tibshelf Community School to have a look round and informally meet staff and pupils. Please contact Mrs Bev Wright, HR Manager recruitment@tibshelf.derbyshire.sch.uk to arrange a visit.
We hope that what we are aspiring to do here will enthuse and excite you too.
We look forward to meeting you.
Tibshelf Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers are required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS before they can be appointed.
